my email is getting shut down
the IT department at my college finally figured out that i don't go to school there anymore, and so my email account is going to be closed in a few days.
i use that email as my login name for GW, as well as the monthly predictions thing for the xunlai tournament website, so my questions are - 1. what do i do now? will my GW account still be accessible? 2. is there a way to change my email address that i log in with on GW and/or xunlai tournament? 3. is my current email address used for any type of important communication from either ANET or GW online? for example, if i have a game-related problem and submit a query, will the answer be sent to my soon-to-be inactive email? I searched the forums for a thread like this and came across one that was talking about PlayNC, which i'm not sure what that is. I bought all of the campaigns and EOTN from a store, not online, if that changes anything. Thanks for any help!! |

Just go to edit account and change email. It will send an email to your old one asking you to confirm it. Then its switched.

to the poster above me; you can only change email if the account is not linked to PlayNC. However, the email itself is in no way linked to your guild wars account. If you are linked to PlayNC change your email address there and you will receive all emails regarding GW to your new adress. The old adress will remain but as nothing more than a login name. It won't actually function as an email adress anymore, just as a string of letter you use as a user name.
If you have ever used the online store for any reason you will automatically be linked to PlayNC. The same goes for if you've used support through that website. If you have never done anything through the PlayNC site then you should be able to do what the above poster stated. |

As for the email that is your "account name", that doesn't change. You change your contact email address. As long as one of the two is a valid address, there is no problem.
This change of contact address will have no affect on your Xunlai House account.

If you do decided to change your email, you will have to accept at both ends, so do it now, and if you do, i recoomend looking at your email settings making sure that the thing that says "disable unknown senders link" off because i realized it was on after 2 weeks trying to change me email address -_-

As long as you have indeed bought everything at a store and since you didn't even know about PlayNC - you should be fine by just changing the email address as posted above...

sweet, thanks for the quick responses everyone! i changed the email address from "Edit Account" and it worked.
i also checked out the plaync.com site and i'm pretty sure i've never seen it before, so no worries there either. as far as the xunlai tourny email goes, i will see if i can change that through their site. |

I recently had to change my Xunlai tournie login email, as I had registered under an old email addy I don't have access to anymore and had no idea what the password was. I don't think there is anything on the website to help you out, I ended up contacting support, but they were really helpful and resolved it within a couple of days changing the email for me.
